Significance of Easter
Since Easter is now celebrated in non-secular ways in many parts of the world, it pays to know of the religious origins behind the feast. At the very least, you should have answers to your kids’ questions about the holiday especially when you come from a family with decidedly Christian orientation.

Beyond the cute and cuddly Easter outfit, Easter is the most important Christian feast in the liturgical calendar simply because it forms the basis for all of Christianity’s beliefs. If you will remember, the central dogma in Christianity is that Jesus died and was risen from the dead in order to save all of humanity from its sins. Thus, Easter Sunday represents the time when humanity has a new life, free of sin, hence, its significance.

Symbols of Easter
Through the centuries, Easter has taken on popular symbols that have nothing to do with the Christian belief per se. Thus, we have the bunny and the egg as the two most popular representation of the holiday and if you see these two things popping up in the tri-media, then you know that it is time to brush up on Easter costumes. Keep in mind that Easter is a moveable feast so there really is no set time on the civil calendar when it will be celebrated – keep your ears and eyes open.
Anyways, costumes for Easter are usually targeted at children since it appears that children rightly represent new life, just as the holiday does for many Christian sects. Of course, you can find adult costumes like bunny headbands and sexy outfits, if you are so inclined to wear a costume while egg-hunting.
First, you have the cute, cuddly and furry Easter bunny. It is said that the rabbit, or more appropriately the hare, was a symbol of fertility and new life in pagan times for obvious reasons. It was just a small leap from the bunny representing new life in Easter from its ancient symbolism. Thus, you see the popularity of a bunny Easter costume for this same reason although the cute factor may also have something to do with it.
Second, you have the round egg that transforms into many different guises for use in chocolate eggs, in hunts and games, and even in costumes. If you have yet to outfit your kid in chick-coming-out-of-an-egg attire, then you should probably look into it. Again, the egg is a holdover from ancient times when it was deemed a symbol of new life and immortality, thanks to its rounded shape. Or it may be that the eternal question of which came first, the chicken or the egg, was a popular way to get into a friendly debate even then.
The right Easter costumes will get your kids into the spirit of the Easter holiday. Watch them running around Easter egg hunting in their oh-so-cute costumes and make them stand out!

Great article. Id like to see more articles from you.

Hi all kids is looking very beautiful fantastic sharing.
its really extremely wonderful and also educational article many thanks for writing this with us…
i am sure that the costumes make the kids very happy…very good idea …they look very nice.
I like to use the paper crates that you buy your eggs in, cut out the individual crate bottoms and then fill those with Easter treats. Try adding a little bit of paper grass into the crate bottoms and place a marshmallow Peep (those cute little edible yellow chicks) inside. Adding some jelly beans or Hershey’s Kisses rounds out the look. Make a few dozen of these and set them out on a table as party favors for all of your egg hunting bunnies!
I think the costumes are lovely for the older kids but not necessarily the babies lol even though they do look really sweet.
Praise God for all He is doing. Thanks!
Dressing up for an Easter party is a great idea. Many families come together at Easter time and this would make the celebration just that bit different.
I love the adorable Easter bunny costumes for the babies!
You have a fantastic selection of costumes here. The biblical costume idea in tandem with Easter is very clever. The Easter Bunny games link is great fun. I always spend far too much time playing these simple games!
They are all so cute! Especially the Plush Floppy Bunny Easter Costume. I would like to get one for my nephew in this coming Easter~ Hmm.. perhaps the Adult Shepherd Easter Costume would be my selection.
Thank you for these steps! This is really helpful. I can create a costume for my niece and nephew so we don’t need to buy a costume they’d wear once a year. I shall go look for a romper suit to start the “project”.
I like this article, you really gave me an aspect of costumes for Easter I had never thought of. This is a way for people to celebrate Easter holiday in a way to give a true meaning to it. They children can learn the real history to this time of year and to put the Easter bunny in its proper place.
I love the deluxe adult bunny costume. Creepy and funny at the same time! What’s also creepy is that we still have candy left from this year’s Easter baskets.
